This Water/Dark-type powerhouse requires the exclusive Greninjite Mega Stone, which can only be obtained through competitive online play. How to Obtain Greninjite
Participate in Season 1 Ranked BattlesThe Greninjite Mega Stone is awarded as a reward for participating in Season 1 of Online Ranked Battles. You don't need to reach a certain rank—simply participate in the season to claim your Greninjite.
Key Requirements:
- Nintendo Switch Online subscription required
- Internet connection needed
- Participate in Season 1 Ranked Battles
- No minimum rank or win requirement
Important Notes:
- If you miss Season 1, Greninjite will be available as a reward in future ranked battle seasons
- The Greninjite cannot be obtained through regular story gameplay
- This is the only method to get the Mega Stone
Season 1 rewards all three Kalos starter Mega Stones:
- Greninjite (Greninja → Mega Greninja)
- Delphoxite (Delphox → Mega Delphox)

How to Mega Evolve Greninja
In-Battle Mega EvolutionOnce you have Greninjite, follow these steps to Mega Evolve:
- Give Greninjite to Greninja to hold (equip as held item)
- Enter a battle with Greninja in your party
- Wait for Energy Meter to fill (builds during battle)
- Press the Right Analog Stick when the meter is full
- Greninja Mega Evolves into Mega Greninja!
Battle Restrictions:
- Can only Mega Evolve once per battle
- Energy meter must be full before Mega Evolution
